EMI GOSPEL CELEBRATES 14 STELLAR AWARD NOMINATIONS

BOTH RECEIVE MULTIPLE NOMINATIONS for the
27th ANNUAL STELLAR AWARDS
EMI Gospel proudly celebrates 14 Stellar Award nominations for the upcoming 27th Annual Stellar Awards. As the nominations were announced, the staff of, EMI Gospel were able to take a minute and enjoy the success of their artists, and look back at all the combined hard work.
VaShawn Mitchell topped the list as the # 1 nominated artist for the upcoming 27th Annual Stellar Awards. Mitchell grabbed an impressive 11 nominations, powered by the strength of his hit single “Nobody Greater”. Mitchell garnered top nominations, including Artist of the Year, CD of the Year, Album of the Year, and Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year. With “Nobody Greater” still in the top 10 on the gospel radio chart and the album in the top 15 on the Billboard gospel chart, VaShawn truly is enjoying a “Triumphant” year.
Smokie Norful delivered a hand clapping, foot stomping, classic gospel album with “How I Got Over…Songs That Carried Us” and grabbed 3 Stellar Award nominations in the process. With an album that was a slight departure from the norm, Norful gave his fans a traditional sound with classic Smokie vocals, and received nominations that only made sense. Norful received nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year, Traditional Male of the Year, and Traditional CD of the Year.
